Health Guarantee
At our Yorkie breeding operation, the health and wellbeing of our puppies is our absolute top priority. That’s why we’re proud to offer a health guarantee that gives our new owners complete peace of mind.
All of our Yorkie puppies come with a 1-year genetic health guarantee. This means that if your new pup is diagnosed with a covered genetic condition within that first year, we will work with you and your veterinarian to cover the associated medical costs. We want to make sure you and your furry friend are set up for a long, healthy, and happy life together.
But our commitment to health goes even deeper than that. We put our breeding dogs through rigorous genetic and health screenings to minimize the risk of inherited issues. Our puppies are also vet-checked, dewormed, and up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations before they ever leave our home.
We supplement this with an intensive socialization program, ensuring our Yorkies grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. From regular handling and exposure to different sights and sounds, to positive reinforcement training – we leave no stone unturned in preparing our pups for their new homes.
The bottom line is, when you choose one of our Yorkies, you’re not just getting an adorable pup, but a lifelong partner that’s been meticulously cared for. We stand behind the health and temperament of our dogs 100%, and we’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
So you can rest assured that with our Yorkie health guarantee, you’re making an investment in a furry friend that’s built to last. We can’t wait for you to experience the joy and unconditional love of one of our very special pups!”
One of the things that really sets our breeding program apart is our commitment to transparency and open communication. We believe in empowering our new owners with all the information they need to provide the best possible care for their Yorkie.
That’s why we’re happy to answer any and all questions, no matter how big or small. Whether you’re curious about the intricacies of Yorkie grooming, the ideal feeding schedule, or even just how to properly socialize your new pup – we’ve got you covered. We provide comprehensive care guides and are always just a phone call away if you need any guidance or support.
We also place a huge emphasis on education. In addition to the hands-on training we provide during the rehoming process, we equip all of our new owners with detailed information about Yorkie-specific needs, common health concerns, and effective training techniques. The goal is to empower you to be the best possible parent to your furry friend.
Yorkies are truly one-of-a-kind, and learning about their unique traits and needs is all part of the fun of owning one. Did you know, for example, that Yorkies have a single-layered coat that is more akin to human hair than traditional dog fur? Or that they’re known for their confident, feisty personalities despite their small stature? Contact me today to find out how to go about getting your own Yorkie puppy.
Common Health Concerns With Yorkies
As passionate Yorkie breeders, we absolutely want to make sure all of our new owners are informed about the potential health concerns to watch out for with these wonderful little dogs.
One of the most common issues that Yorkies can face is a condition called hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Because of their tiny size and fast metabolism, Yorkies can be prone to blood sugar dips, especially in puppies and toy-sized adults. This requires vigilant monitoring and proper feeding schedules to keep their levels stable.
Another concern is tracheal collapse, which can cause difficulty breathing and even collapse of the windpipe. This is a structural issue that’s unfortunately quite prevalent in the Yorkie breed. Luckily, with proper veterinary care and management, many dogs with tracheal collapse can live long, happy lives.
Yorkies are also predisposed to a number of dental and periodontal problems. Their small mouths mean their teeth are quite crowded, making them susceptible to plaque buildup, tartar, and even tooth loss if dental hygiene isn’t maintained. Regular tooth brushing and professional cleanings are a must.
We also see a higher incidence of luxating patellas, or dislocating kneecaps, in Yorkies. This can range from mild to severe, and may require surgery in some cases. Careful screening of breeding stock and maintaining a healthy weight for your Yorkie can help minimize this risk.
And of course, like any small breed, Yorkies are prone to certain orthopedic issues like collapsing trachea, hip and elbow dysplasia, and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease. Providing proper nutrition, exercise, and veterinary checkups are crucial for catching and managing these conditions early.
The good news is, with diligent care and an attentive, proactive approach to their health, the vast majority of Yorkies live long, healthy, and active lives. And we’re always here to provide guidance, resources, and support to ensure your furry friend thrives.
